THE LIVING REPLICAS OF JESUS NAZARENO: APOSTOLIC NUNCIO, CHARLES BROWN LEADS THE BLESSING OF NAZARENO REPLICAS AND ESTANDARTE

His Excellency, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Charles Brown D.D. leads the yearly solemn blessing of 1,185 Nazareno replicas and “estandarte” (banner) of all Balangay chapters from the footbridge of Quezon Boulevard at the left side of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno on January 2, 2024, after the third day of the 12:15 noon novena mass in honor of Jesus the Nazarene.

 

During the homily, His Excellency Brown urges the devotees to be on guard against lies. As he says that “Jesus is the truth”, Brown emphasizes that being a devotee of Jesus Nazareno also means being a devotee of “the one who is the way, the truth, and the life”.

“We need to love the truth because when we are loving the truth, we are loving Jesus Nazareno”. Brown explains that the truth is not only a ‘philosophical idea’ but has a ‘name and a face’, which pertains to Jesus Nazareno.

He also adds that in order to have a prosperous society, good relationships with each other, this must be based on truth and not on lies.

“What comes out of our mouth should be true, should not be false”, His Excellency Brown encourages the faithful if to really follow Jesus Nazareno.

In the concluding part of the Holy Mass, Diocese of Balanga Bataan Bishop-elect Sescon Jr., incumbent rector and parish priest of Quiapo church tells the people that they are the ‘living replicas of Jesus Nazareno’ by loving, helping and forgiving one another. Likewise, if everyone loves the truth and reject lies.
