Rev. Fr. Vincent Gabriel Bautista, Vice-Rector of the Manila Cathedral, delivered his talk during the Parish-Wide Formation with the topic “Devotee to Disciple” during the Parish Wide Formation at 7:00 P.M. on October 22, 2024, at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.
The first point is that a true disciple must abide to discipline and being disciplined. In light of the tradition and culture of devotees every Traslacion procession, Rev. Fr. Bautista challenged the devotees and the rest of the audience to exemplify this in order to manifest the true form of devotion to the Black Nazarene.
To be a disciple, he adds is to ‘listen to Jesus’, ‘be open to people ready to put sense into us’ and ‘lead us into a better life’.

The second, and last, point, is that a disciple should open up his heart and will to be disciplined. In support, Rev. Fr. Bautista said that being a disciple is not always with joys but must also sometimes experience the pain of becoming one. The striking point is the call for change of the customs of showing the real face of devotion.
Prior to the formation event, the Nazareno 2024 official video was released along with the unveiling of the new logo for Nazareno 2025, which was created by Mr. Allan Dominique R. Saragina. The said logo will be the emblem of next year’s celebration of what would be the first ever National Feast of the Black Nazarene with the theme: “Mas Mabuti ang Pagsunod kaysa sa Paghahandog” (1 Samuel 15:22) sa mga Umaasa kay Jesus (To obey is better than sacrifice) for those hoping in Jesus.
