31 December 2025 | Quiapo, Manila
Quiapo came alive in prayer and quiet reverence as thousands of devotees gathered at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno for the recently concluded Thanksgiving Procession held at midnight between December 30 and 31, 2025. The sacred event marked a meaningful close to the year, drawing an estimated crowd of 8,000 faithful who came together to offer gratitude for blessings received throughout the year.

The Thanksgiving Procession lasted for 1 hour and 37 minutes, beginning with a communal prayer held at Plaza Miranda that set a solemn and reflective tone. Shortly after, devotees joined the reverent procession around the vicinity of Quiapo Church, filling the streets with prayers, hymns, and silent petitions. The atmosphere was deeply spiritual, characterized by thanksgiving, humility, and renewed hope as the faithful prepared to welcome the New Year.

At exactly 11:30 p.m. on December 30, 2025, the sacred image of Poong Jesus Nazareno was brought out of the basilica, greeted by waves of devotion and heartfelt reverence. The image returned to the church at 1:14 a.m. on December 31, 2025, marking the culmination of the procession and symbolizing the community’s desire to end the year with grateful hearts and steadfast faith.

More than a tradition, the annual Thanksgiving Procession stands as a profound expression of devotion and trust in Poong Jesus Nazareno. By bringing the revered image closer to the faithful, the celebration deepens spiritual connection and invites reflection on the year that has passed. For many devotees, the procession serves as a spiritual reset—an act of surrender and thanksgiving—entrusting the coming year to the mercy, guidance, and grace of Jesus Nazareno.
