The Parish Youth Ministry (PYM) of Quiapo joyfully celebrated its annual PYM Family Day with the theme “Ang Pamilyang Deboto, Nagsusugo ng Disipulo”, highlighting the value of unity, discipleship, and faith-filled family life.

Bro. Pao Olaveja from the ACY Secretariat, gave a short talk about the meaning of QUIAPO. He reminded everyone that “Tayong lahat ay Anak ng Diyos, Anak ng Quiapo.” (We are all children of God, children of Quiapo). He invited the youth to live out the true meaning of being part of the Pamilyang Deboto, Nagsusugo ng Disipulo through the word QUIAPO, which he explained as:

Bro. Pao emphasized that being a true Batang Quiapo means embodying love, service, and faith in everyday life. Families that live in faith and offer their lives to God, he said, are truly blessed.
The celebration brought together young devotees and ministry members in a day of fellowship, prayer, and meaningful activities. The program included dance and theater presentations, games, a motivational talk, choir performances, photo opportunities, and Thanksgiving Mass.

Participating groups included the Hijos Kabataan, Anpon Hijos Kabataan, Bukluran Hijos Kabataan Central, Hijos Kabataan MBBN, Hijos Kabataan NPJN, Parish Youth Ministry, Parish Children Ministry, Ministry of the Altar Server, YSLEP, and the Young Adult Ministry.
Miss Jocelyn Dangan, PYM head has an encouraging message to members of the Parish Youth Ministry, “We are called to serve with love, unity, and purpose—following the example of Jesus Nazareno, who served with humility and compassion. Let us remain one family in faith, joyfully living out the Gospel and supporting one another as true disciples of Christ.” She added, “May our service continue to inspire the young to carry on this mission each year.”

The day concluded with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Viel Bautista, who reminded everyone to focus their prayers not on themselves but on God. He cautioned against selfish or prideful prayers and encouraged the youth to pray with humility, sincerity, and truthfulness, asking: “Whom do we follow—the prideful or the humble? May our hearts always be turned toward God.”

The celebration ended with joy and renewed faith, affirming the PYM’s commitment to be a family of disciples devoted to Christ and His Church.
