On December 24, 2024, 8:00 PM, selected participants stage a musical reenactment play of the Filipino tradition “Panunuluyan”, where both Joseph and Mary searched for lodging before the birth of Jesus, the Nazarene. From the Laity Cluster spearheaded by the Family and Life Ministry & Basic Ecclesial Community (FLM & BEC) office, this drama is made possible in collaboration with the Music Ministry. The main message of this play is to give and spread the message of hope and joy in celebration of the incarnation of Jesus, the Nazarene, in human flesh in a manger this first Christmas.
The performers of the Panunuluyan are: Jhian Akisha Chavez from Parish Youth Ministry (PYM) Mary, and Khris Santos from the same ministry as Joseph. Meanwhile, the actors of the households and shepherds are from the Basic Ecclesial Communities together with the Hijos Del Nazareno (HDN) Bukluran and Family and Life Ministry. The voice actors come from the Music Ministry. It becomes unique at the last part with a dance performance by the other Quiapo youth ministry members as angels, that delivered to the shepherds good tidings of great joy of Jesus Christ’s birth.
In one with the people behind this drama presentation, eternal gratitude, praise and glory is offered. May this play bring hope and to every family and the community. Like Mary and Joseph, the shepherds, who had chosen to follow the will of the Lord and heed to His call to love.
