In a heartwarming display of faith, a young boy named Kaeden Canseran Panganiban, wearing a maroon outfit patterned after Jesus Nazareno, stood eagerly with a cardboard cross on his shoulder, awaiting the passage of the Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno’s image outside his home.

This poignant scene unfolded in the town of Quisao, Pililla Rizal, and was a delight to behold for one of the Hijos Del Nazareno escorts Rommel Dasilao, during the procession of the image at streets of San Diego de Alcala Parish last October 4, 2025.
The young boy’s devotion to Jesus Nazareno is a testament to the power of faith that transcends age. His simple yet profound act of wearing a replica of the Nazareno’s attire and crafting a cardboard cross speaks volumes about the depth of his spirituality. As per Dasilao,” Nakakatuwang makita na sa murang edad niya, handa siyang magsuot at gayahin ang hitsura ng Nazareno.” (It is heartwarming to see that at such a young age, he is willing to dress up and imitate the appearance of the Nazareno). He also added, “Maliwanag na ang mga magulang o mga kamag-anak ay nagtanim sa kanya ng matibay na debosyon, kitang-kita sa kanyang mukha ang seryosong paghihintay sa prusisyon.” (It is clear that his parents or relatives have instilled in him a strong devotion, as you can clearly see the seriousness on his face while waiting for the procession).

This heartwarming encounter highlights the importance of nurturing faith in the young generation. As society becomes increasingly complex, it’s refreshing to see children embracing their spirituality and expressing their devotion in meaningful ways. Jesus Nazareno’s image has become an iconic symbol of faith and devotion, inspiring countless devotees to deepen their relationship with God.
The Dalaw Nazareno is a significant program of Quiapo Church, aimed at sharing the image of the Black Nazarene with devotees who cannot make it to the church. This program allows people to experience the spiritual benefits of devotion to Jesus Nazareno, fostering a sense of community and faith among believers. Parishes interested in scheduling the Dalaw Nazareno can contact the Rector’s office for more information.

The young boy’s story serves as a reminder that faith can be a powerful force in our lives, regardless of age. As we navigate the complexities of life, it’s essential to cultivate a deep sense of spirituality and devotion. The Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno’s image continues to inspire millions of devotees, offering a beacon of hope and faith in these uncertain times.
In an era where Gen-Z is often characterized as being open and expressive, this young boy’s devotion to Jesus Nazareno is a testament to the enduring power of faith. His story is a poignant reminder that spirituality can be a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration, and that it’s never too early to cultivate a deep sense of devotion.
