The whole vicariate of San Jose de Trozo community gathered at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno on November 23, 2024, for the 5:00 P.M. solemn vigil mass in the eve of Jesus Christ’s kingship of the universe. Rev. Fr. Peterson O. Tieng, LRMS, of San Jose de Trozo Parish, presided the Holy Mass.
In his homily, Fr. Tieng emphasized four points about Christ’s kingdom. The first point is that Jesus’ kingdom is in heaven and not found on earth.
The second point is that Jesus’ kingdom is everlasting and will have no ends. In contrast to historical empires, which had met its end.
The third is the everlasting reign of Jesus here on earth until the end of time. Fr. Teing also challenged the congregation that the truth – Jesus – should reign in our lives in all aspects. Also, he added that the most vital key of our life is the key towards the kingdom of God.
After the mass, the vicariate procession of the Blessed Sacrament commenced with the participation of all members of the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) from the following churches under the Vicariate of San Jose de Trozo namely: Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno (Quiapo Church), Minor Basilica of San Sebastian (San Sebastian Church), Archdiocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament (Santa Cruz Parish), National Shrine of St. Michael and the Archangels, National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus and San Jose de Trozo Parish. The recipient church is the National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, next year’s host of the vicariate procession.
