BE A SAINT: QUIAPO CHURCH MARKS ITS HOLY WIN PARADE OF SAINTS IN CULMINATION OF THIS YEAR’S HOLY ROSARY MONTH

Nov. 30, 2024 08:57 PM

The Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno held its annual Parade of Saints dubbed ‘Holy Win’: Pagsunod sa Yapak ng mga Banal on Saturday, October 16, 2024. The celebration began with a 4:00 P.M. mass inside the Basilica-Shrine presided by Rev. Fr. Robert Arellano, LRMS, parochial vicar.

“Ang ating Diyos hindi lamang isang pagkakataon kundi ng maraming pagkakataon upang tayong lahat at magbago at magbalik-loob” (Our Lord gives many chances for us to change and go back to Him), Fr. Arellano quoted this as with the help of the Holy Spirit, ‘we are being made holy’ just like the saints.

Fr. Arellano made reference to Saint Augustine of Hippo’s quote: “No saint without a past no saint without a future” as he advised ‘as long as we are ready to transform’.

In the end, he stated that the “the Lord is always ready to forgive us for our sins and cleanse our hearts if we repent and change”. Also, he said that “A new life begins with Him, through Him and in Him”.  UB

After the mass, the traditional Parade of Saints commenced with fourty participants from the mandated organizations and ministries of Quiapo church.
