ACT WITH COMPASSION: FR. CRUCERO EMPHASIZES THIS ON QUIAPO CHURCH’S PARISH-WIDE FORMATION

Nov. 30, 2024 06:49 PM

Rev. Fr. Cristopher Crucero, LRMS, one of the incumbent parochial vicars of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno delivered this as the speaker for Parish-Wide formation with the theme: “Shrine as Place of Compassion” at 7:00 P.M. on August 27, 2024.

“Nawa madama natin ang habag ng Diyos sa pamamagitan natin” (May we feel the compassion of God through us). Quoting Pope Francis’ “Habag ang wika ng Diyos” (Compassion is the language of God), Fr. Crucero points out with this phrase, ‘Di lang mayroon, dapat may pagkilos’ (It should not only carried out in the mind, but through actions). Throughout his talk, he gave six points for the audience to ponder: “pagbibigay ng totoo” (giving what is genuine), “pakikinig ng walang paghuhusga” (listening without judgment), “pagtulong ng buong puso” (helping with all heart), “pakikiramay” (compassion), “pakikipagkapwa” (fellowship) and “pagpapatawad” (forgiveness).

Rev. Fr. Cristopher Crucero is a recently ordained priest last December 2, 2023, at the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral). He was assigned to his present church assignment here at Quiapo Church on June 8, 2024.
