Manila, Philippines – January 29, 2026
In celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of the Solemn Declaration as a National Shrine, the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno opened its pilgrim Center and Souvenir Shop. The Rite of blessing was presided by his Eminence Jose Cardinal Advincula, D.D., Archbishop of Manila.

The newly blessed Pilgrim’s Center stands as a testament to the National Shrine’s mission of spreading devotion to Jesus Nazareno and of accommodating and assisting pilgrims, devotees, and visitors from both local and international communities. Designed to respond to the growing influx of devotees, the center offers guidance, information, and assistance to those seeking to deepen their spiritual journey at the Shrine.

The Pilgrim’s Center also serves as souvenir shop, which offers official devotional items and faith-inspired products directly from Quiapo Church. These items serve not only as mementos but also as tangible expressions of faith that devotees can bring home, ensuring authenticity while supporting the church’s ministries.

In his message of gratitude, Rev. Fr. Jade Licuanan, emphasized the importance of the Pilgrim’s Center in responding to the growing number of inquiries from various organizations, schools, private companies, and institutions from around the world who wish to visit the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.

Fr. Licuanan said, “The Pilgrim’s Center was created to better serve our devotees and visitors—providing them with proper guidance, reliable information, and authentic church-made devotional items in one convenient space,” (Ang Pilgrim’s Center ay nilikha upang higit na mapaglingkuran ang ating mga deboto at mga panauhin—sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng wastong paggabay, mapagkakatiwalaang impormasyon, at mga tunay na debosyonal na gamit na likha ng Simbahan sa iisang maginhawang lugar)

The inauguration of the Pilgrim’s Center also reflects Basilica’s ongoing commitment to hospitality, order, and responsible stewardship, especially as one of the most visited religious sites in the country. It reinforces the Church’s role not only as a place of worship, but as a living community that listens, serves, and accompanies the faithful.

More than physical structure, the Pilgrim’s Center stands as a symbol of welcome and communion, reminding every pilgrim that their journey of faith is recognized and valued. As the Minor Basilica of Jesus Nazareno continues its mission as a National Shrine, the center embodies the Church’s call to open its doors wider welcoming every pilgrim, nurturing devotion, and guiding hearts closer to Christ through service and unity.
